My Solo Sights Specific Performance Evaluation

For my sight specific solo I knew I wanted to sing a song, so had an idea for doing something in the Castle Park, but I knew it was likely that a lot of people would want to do theirs there, so instead I chose the Aberystwyth Train Station as I have had a a few personal experiences there.A while ago I was sat in the train station waiting for my mum to pick me up by Matalan, and I see this couple arguing. One of them couldn’t decide on something. Nothing annoys me more than people arguing in public as I’ve suffered the embarrassment of being on the other end. This sparked my thought of an old song I use to listen to ‘Rollerblades’ by Eliza Doolittle, a singer and songwriter from London. It was also quite fitting as it makes references to train, to show you what I mean, here are the lyrics;

I know you say you’re ready to change
But I need to get it down on paper
It’s in your face you’re ready to blame
The first guy in line to catch the train
I’ll save your seat
‘Cause you don’t stand for what you preach
You’re singing with a broken string, tell me what you really mean,
Do you know what you want?
While beating up on yesterday, I was on my rollerblades
Rolling on moving on
It’s time to take the time to create
‘Cause you’re running late the doors are closing
So tip your hat and you might get back
Whatever you need is up ahead
This train won’t stop for anybody to get off
You’re singing with a broken string tell me what you really mean
Do you know what you want?
While beating up on yesterday, I was on my rollerblades
Rolling on moving on
You’re singing with a broken string tell me what you really mean
Do you know what you want?
Do you know, oh no
We got to run with it
It will get better
And that leaves we’re stuck together
Make your mind up
Know what you need to say before you shout at me
So take your seat ’cause standing only wears out feet
You’re singing with a broken string, tell me what you really mean
Do you know what you want?
You’re beating up on yesterday, I was on my rollerblades
Rolling on, moving on
You’re singing with a broken string, tell me what you really mean
Do you know what you want?
Beating up on yesterday, I was on my rollerblades
Rolling on, moving on
Do you know what you want?

    1. Eliza Doolittle the singer and songwriter from London. You might have heard one of her popular songs ‘Pack up’. (I’ll edit my post to clarify which Eliza I’m referring to)
